🥩 The Yes2Meat Newsletter Launch
Our mission is to promote the benefits of a meat-based diet as a counter to the anti-meat rhetoric that’s leading far too many the wrong way. Say Yes 2 Meat!
🥩 Hello Meatlings,
Welcome to the first Yes2Meat newsletter!
We’re here because we are SICK and TIRED of all the plant-based propaganda, virtue signaling, glorifying plant protein, and the fallacy that plants are superior.
This misinformation (lol at that word) hurts so many by leading them down paths that won’t help them.
We know that wonderful people in the world are doing the right thing: spreading the good word on why animal meat is necessary for optimal health, and others are saving the planet with regenerative agriculture, but everything is so spread apart and disconnected.
We’re hoping this can be a central hub where we can collaborate, connect, and share so that our voices, our dollars, and our votes do more.
That is why we collaborated to create the world’s best resource for the pro-meat community.
This will be your go-to place for all that is meat: honoring it, butchering it, preparing it, understanding the science demonstrating the fantastic health benefits of it, and clearing up confusion around its “supposed cause” of cancer + heart disease.
We will explore past pioneers such as Weston A. Price and introduce you to those in the trenches now: researchers in the field, innovators creating unique products, and ranchers raising animals humanely and tending to the earth.
We care about the earth, but we don’t believe severely reducing or eliminating the one food our species has eaten for millions of years is the answer. We believe (science agrees) that we can have the best of both worlds: eat meat and help the planet with regenerative agriculture. Lastly, we also want to party, so we will share any events supporting this philosophy.
Think of this newsletter and the future content efforts as an evergreen resource you will want to keep coming back to, and a place you can confidently send your friends and loved ones.
You’ll see many published papers questioning the USDA MyPlate guidelines, and you’ll have plenty of resources to share with your plant-based friends. We hope to build directories supporting local farmers who grow animals with regenerative farming practices and products we love.
In addition to being animal-based, a species-appropriate diet would include other whole foods prepared with ancient techniques like fermentation, sprouting, and broth made from bones. We reject processed foods, sugar substitutes, artificial anything, and seed oils. We disregard mainstream nutrition guidelines and do not fear fat or cholesterol.
Lastly, we support change-makers advocating for common-sense nutrition reform. For instance, the Nutrition Coalition works hard in DC to pressure the Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee (DGAC) until they’re released from financial conflicts of interest.
The DGAC is the expert committee that oversees the science used to write the Dietary Guidelines IE USDA MyPlate. 95% of members from the last committee had financial ties to a food or pharma company, uncovered by researchers. The Nutrition Coalition is also working to get whole milk back into schools.
Okay, lastly, to be successful, we need you!
We shared our ideas on what we envision this movement to look like, but we want to hear your ideas; let’s define them together.
Please send us your ideas; we want to hear them.
✌🏻 and ribeyes,
-Miranda MS, LN & The Yes2Meat Team

🍖 A new weight loss strategy? A study shows a high protein, high-fiber, and good fat diet may have the answers since diets may not work in long-term weight loss unless we factor in how satisfied and full we feel. By choosing foods that are high in fibre, protein, and healthy fats, you can increase satiety and reduce the likelihood of overeating. This approach encourages the inclusion of nutrient-dense options. This kind of food-based approach can be motivating for people to integrate the idea of having a diet plan in their daily life.
🐟 Common ingredient found in meat, fish, and energy drinks could extend your life and health, say scientists. Foods including the highest levels of taurine are shellfish - like scallops, clams, and mussels - as well as dark chicken and turkey meat.

Diet: Lion Diet and Carnivore Diet
Exercise: Regular resistance training
Time on Diet: 1 month was spent on the Lion Diet to determine food sensitivities: "Everything is going great. I did strict Lion diet for a month and have slowly started adding things back one at a time. I’ve found that I have a skin reaction with sparkling water and with coffee but tolerating chicken and egg yolks just fine. The Lion diet has been an extremely helpful tool for finding out exactly what foods and beverages I am sensitive to."
And she has been on the Carnivore Diet for 1.5 years now.

🪣 Buckets of Time
How to have buckets of time by Basecamp co-founder David Hansson → an excellent piece on batching things into buckets. I love thinking about tasks this way:
“One of the most important techniques I've embraced for managing my time is to direct related tasks to a bucket, let that bucket accumulate until full, then empty it all in one go.”
Attention is the scarce resource:
“Too many people delude themselves into thinking they can parallelize a million things at once, but they can't. Multitasking is a mirage. Humans run single-core CPUs. All they can do is swap context in and out, losing ever more to switching costs as they do. 2”
🤔 To Ponder
"TO BE A SUCCESSFUL FARMER ONE MUST FIRST
KNOW THE NATURE OF THE SOIL."
-Xenophon of Athens, (431BC – 354BC). Greek historian, philosopher, and student of Socrates.
Do you think the modern farmers using glyphosate and huge machines know anything about the soil? 🤔
Red Light / Near Infrared Therapy
Nearly every disease state known to man has been linked to low mitochondrial activity. Understanding which foods and factors enhance metabolism, and which inhibit it are paramount for successfully preventing or reversing disease.”
―Mark Sloan, Red Light Therapy: Miracle Medicine
When I realized our bodies have light needs, everything changed.
Getting ☀️ each morning went from a "nice to do" to a MUST DO OR ELSE.
Reducing blue light exposure at night using Nightshift (F.lux app), using blue light blockers, and replacing all our regular blue bulbs with orange glow bulbs changed from "hack" to THE ONLY WAY TO LIVE FoRever.
It all started when I dug into the research on red and near-infrared light. (Check out this spreadsheet with over 5000 published studies 🤯).

Nutrition Coalition For Dietary Policy Based on Rigorous Science led by John Bates. Nutrition Coalition is our voice in DC. To elaborate from above, they are working with Senator Chuck Grassley to pressure the DGAC to pause its work until they’re released from financial conflicts of interest. You can read about it here. This is unprecedented and the most attention Congress has ever paid to this issue.
Whole milk in schools - Whole milk is currently banned in public schools across the country. John was in DC this last week, speaking at a policy briefing with the Chairman of the House Agriculture Committee, GT Thompson in support of his legislation to put it back in schools. This bill was voted out of committee last week, and they are working to shore up support before it goes to a full vote. You can read their letter on the subject here.
They are also focused on the current drafting of the Dietary Guidelines and a few items in the Farm Bill, currently making its way through Congress. Please message your senators, in order for anything to change, they need to hear us loud and clear! 📢
